The essence of a night game drive
Add another dimension to your daily game drives and enter the world of Africa’s nocturnal predators on a thrilling night drive. Night drives at Lake Manyara National Part are particularly spectacular, with the moon reflecting off the lake. After an early dinner, leave the lodge at about 20h00 and explore the park for approximately three hours. Your expert guide will take you through the park’s diverse habitats in search of nocturnal animals and sounds, giving you a completely different perspective of the lake and the Rift Valley Escarpment.
The wild animals in this park are in top notch condition, due to the dependable water supply year round. There is an abundance of elusive animals that are rarely seen in the day, but that are incredibly active at night. Keep your eyes open, and hopefully you will be lucky enough to spot shy genets, lithe civet cats and prickly porcupines. Possibly easier to see will be the massive hippos happily foraging under a leafy tree on the road side. Fleeting leopards often wander around the park and, even though it is not a given that you will see one, there are regular sightings of them. The kings of the jungle, the golden lions, pride themselves on sleeping all day so fortunately, you are sure to seen them as they are most mobile at night.

At 1600 meters altitude the bottom of the Crater (265 km square), dotted with watering holes, offers shelter to almost 30.000 animals in an area naturally enclosed by the slopes of the volcano. The Crater elephants are strangely, mainly bulls. There is a small number of black rhino. Day 08 :
ON SAFARI IN THE SERENGETI PARK

Game drives in the Serengeti are always a surprise.
Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park, also a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th worldwide wonder, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson's gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing.
You never quite know how the drama might play out. To maximise your wild time, we can dish up a delicious lunch on the go, while, come nightfall.
Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle.

The spectacle of predator versus prey dominates Tanzania’s greatest park. Golden-maned lion prides feast on the abundance of plain grazers. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while a high density of cheetahs prowls the southeastern plains. Almost uniquely, all three African jackal species occur here, alongside the spotted hyena and a host of more elusive small predators, ranging from the insectivorous aardwolf to the beautiful serval cat.

Enjoy dinner back at lodge, then sit out and listen one last time: to the eerie call of the nightjar and the whoop of a hyena, to the hippos’ belly guffaw and the lion’s nerve-trembling roar…

Day 09 :
SERENGETI PARK / ZANZIBAR

Welcome to Zanzibar
The Story of an Island Paradise
The very mention of Zanzibar - the beautiful and historic spice island lying just off the coast of Tanzania - is enough to conjure up a multitude of mental images that are both exotic and striking. It is this emotional reaction that has caused this Indian Ocean Island to become one of the world’s most sought-after holiday destinations.

Stepping Back in Time
The island’s history is indelibly stamped by hundreds of years of trade in spices - nutmeg, cinnamon and saffron to name-but-three - with itinerant merchants traveling by sailing ship from as far away as Europe, the Middle East and even China. It has been this commodity - one as valuable as gold in its time - that has driven and shaped the cultural flavors of the island.

Zanzibar’s architecture, language and religion reflect both the island’s distant and recent past; with the passing dhows that constantly sail along the coastline and the murmurs of the fishermen drifting on the sea breeze, that past is seemingly not so distant. The magical island has been likened to that of a time capsule, one that has been unopened by modern tourism.

You are then taken on a Spice tour.

Embark on an unforgettable walking tour and discover how Zanzibar earned its nickname "Spice Island" through your senses.
Gain a different perspective to the beautiful island of Zanzibar as you explore small spice farms and plantations of the countryside and in the rural areas of Zanzibar where the locals grow cloves, vanilla, nutmeg, cardamom, cinnamon, pepper and many other spices, medicinal and ornamental plants, not to mention a variety of tropical fruits.

Get an in-depth insiders knowledge as you hear about the detailed description of the spices and learn how to use the different plants for local dishes, herbal medicine and traditional ceremonies, which are an important aspect of the Zanzibarian culture.

Your tour also includes a visit to the Kidichi Persian Baths built in 1850 by Seyyid Said bin Sultan (first Sultan of Zanzibar) as a gift for his wife Princes Shehrzard (grand-daughter of Fateh Ali Shah of Persia).

After the tour, you are transferred to your beach hotel for check in.

Dinner is included at the resort.

Accommodation: Gold Zanzibar Beach House & Spa or similar
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Next door to Jozani is the Zanzibar Butterfly Centre, an interactive butterfly exhibit consisting of a netted tropical garden with hundreds of butterflies, all of which are native species to Zanzibar. The enclosure is one of Africa’s largest butterflies exhibits and provides residents and tourists of Zanzibar with an interactive and visual environment to learn about butterflies. Our last stop on the tour is ZALA Park - a fascinating menagerie of exotic reptiles and amphibians, as well as duikers, bushbabies, and hyrax.
After that, experience a real turtle sanctuary. Here, turtles are treated and healed of any illnesses before being released to the ocean. Get the chance to swim with these incredible animals and feed them. All fees paid here contribute towards turtle welfare and the education of tourists on their impact on the local environment.

Set sail on a traditional dhow to the idyllic Menai Bay, and discover the beauty and serenity of the glistening turquoise waters.

As you glide along the sparkling Menai Bay, a designated conservation area, you will spot numerous uninhabited islands, isolated sandbanks, an abundance of marine life and crystal-clear turquoise water; with luck you may even see a humpback and bottlenose dolphins.

This magical tour will give you the opportunity to go snorkeling on a reef and tuck into a great seafood lunch. After lunch, why not join an experienced crew and take your seat in a “ngalawa” or outrigger canoe made by hand from a single mango tree. Depending on the tide, swim through a lush mangrove forest in a beautiful hidden lagoon. Moreover, you can climb a giant and unusual baobab tree, or simply admire it from the ground.
