Activities:

• Morning orientation tour of Kuching – The perfect introduction to Sarawak’s historic capital, this tour includes Kuching’s Chinatown, the Cat Statue (Kuching means Cat in Malay), the colourful Tua Pek Kong Chinese Temple, the Civic Centre Viewing Platform and the world famous Sarawak Museum.
• Return via the golden-domed City Mosque and passing through Old Kuching, crammed with spice dealers and textile shops. Pass by the heritage buildings of the White Rajah era, the Pavilion, the Square Tower, the Court House, the Charles Brooke Monument and the Post Office.
• We will view the Astana, the former residence of the White Rajahs from across the river at the Kuching Waterfront.
• After lunch proceed to Semengok Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre – The best place in Sarawak to view semi-wild orangutans who have been rescued from captivity and trained to survive in the surrounding forest reserve. The rehabilitated animals roam freely in the rain forest, and often return to the centre at feeding time. Thanks to the successful breeding program at Semonggok there is a good possibility of experiencing one of the most heart-warming sights in Borneo – an orangutan mother with a young baby. The centre is 30 mins drive from Kuching and another 20 mins on foot.
• Along the way visitors pass by the ethno-botanical gardens with their unique collection of rain-forest plants. Semengok also has a number of short collections of rain-forest plants.

Activities:

• Today depart for Batang Ai tour from Kuching by air-conditioned van / coach for the Resort, 166 miles from Kuching city, passing through scenic countryside consisting of quaint little towns, villages, padi fields, pepper and oil palm plantations interspersed with secondary and virgin jungle as the road starts to wind and undulate as you go deeper into the interior.
• Stop for lunch at Lachau, a small town on the way to the resort.
• Arrive at the hydro lake at Lubok Antu.
• Board a shuttle ferry for the resort situated on the southern bank.

Overnight: Batang Ai – (B, L, D)

Activities:

• Depart for Mengkak Longhouse by motorized native longboat. The journey will take you across the lake into the Engkari River, one of the many tributaries flowing into the lake. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes before reaching Mengkak Longhouse nestled on a hill beside the river.
• Enjoy a short cultural performance by the inhabitant of the longhouse followed later on by a blow pipe demonstration.
• Lunch will be provided.
• After lunch free at Leisure until your return back to the Resort via the same route for Dinner and accommodation.

Overnight: Batang Ai – (B, L, D)

Activities:

• Depart for Kuching via the same route as your arrival.
• Stop for lunch at a small roadside town before continuing your journey to Kuching.
