Upon arrival at airport in Costa Rica, you will be warmly met by a representative, who will provide assistance and transfer to your accommodation to check-in.

Overnight: San Jose

Activities:

• Early in the morning, you will depart from San Jose Central Valley to the Tortuguero area.
• On the way, you will pass through the Braulio Carrillo National Park, a flora and fauna sanctuary covered by an emerald-green mass of vegetation. Besides, you will have the chance to see from the comfort of the bus, open pasture lands, small farming towns, and will also notice a change in the climate, as it becomes a bit warmer and humid but very pleasant.
• After breakfast on the way, the journey will continue to the dock area deeper into our Caribbean side, where the boats are waiting to transfer you to Laguna Lodge. A two hour boat ride, will take you through the canals sheltered in the jungle of the rain forest. From the boat, you will be able to admire the unique flora and fauna of this area.
• On the way to the lodge, you will have the chance to see different birds.
• Upon arrival, there will be a short briefing of the lodge and the activities included during your stay, followed by lunch.
• In the afternoon you will visit the village of Tortuguero where you will learn the lifestyle of local residents and the significant conservation efforts that some NGOs have developed to protect the sea turtles that come to spawn each year along the 22 miles of the protected coastline.
• Two night stay in your lodge at Tortuguero.

Overnight: Lodge – (B, L, D)

Activities:

• Today, you will explore the secondary canals of this paradisiacal place and get closer to nature. This is a wonderful and interesting experience where you can see abundant flora and fauna of Tortuguero National Park. Tortuguero, is one of the rainiest regions of the country (between 5000- 6000 mm. per year) and it is one of the wild areas that shelter the biggest biological variety of the nation, 11 habitats have been identified in the park.
• Return to the lodge, then free time for a siesta, lunch or enjoy the pool and explore on your own.

Optional Activities: From July through September (approximately), you can take the optional (extra cost) turtle-watching tour during the evening, to admire one of the most impressive miracles of life: massive sea turtles arriving every night to lay their eggs on the beach.

Overnight: Lodge – (B, L, D)

Activities:

• At mid-morning the journey continues with a boat transfer back to the local dock. Upon arrival, ground transportation will be provided to the area of Guapiles, where lunch will be served.
• Afterwards, continue on an unescorted transfer towards the northern lowlands, this route offers the experience to pass through different towns such as Puerto Viejo (Sarapiqui), San Miguel, Venecia and Aguas Zarcas. Also, along the way you will enjoy the beautiful scenery which includes amazing views of the mountains and one of the major sources of revenue in the area: the agriculture, so you will have the opportunity according with the season to observe the crops of pineapple, bananas and sugar cane.
• Arrive to La Fortuna Village late afternoon where the mighty Arenal Volcano will welcome you with its impressive perfect conic shape.
• Check In at Arenal Hotel, as you will be staying the next two nights at this property.

Overnight: Arenal – (B, L)

Activities:

• In the morning you will be visiting the Arenal Volcano close by surroundings. You can enjoy of the most extraordinary view of the Arenal Volcano on a gentle hike along the base of this marvelous place. The hike begins in one the trails close to the volcano, this trail will take you through the forest over recent lava flows and the area destroyed in 1968 (now in the process of regeneration). This trail takes about 2 ½ hours to be completed.
• Return back to the Hotel.
• Rest of the day at leisure, where you can just sit back and relax or eventually enjoy at an extra cost one of the many activities in the area such as: Horseback riding, Sky trek, canopy, Hot Springs, river floating and much more.

Overnight: Arenal – (B)

Activities:

• This morning you will start your ascent to the Tilarán Mountain Range, home of the Monteverde Cloud Forest.
• This is a very special journey which begins with a short boat ride that crosses the Arenal Lake. During this trip, you will have the opportunity to admire different species of resident and migratory birds that visit the lake.
• The final portion of your journey is on gravel roads, giving you more time to immerse in the incredible mountain scenery and admire the beautiful Cloud Forest.
• You will be staying the next two nights at your Monteverde Hotel.

Overnight: Monteverde – (B)

Activities:

• This morning you will visit the suspended bridges where you could observe the Cloud forest typical of Monteverde. These bridges were created to investigate the canopy of the forest where several species of birds lay their eggs and the musk of the forest trap the water of the clouds.
• After this, discover the highest elevations of Monteverde Cloud Forest comfortably sited in your aerial tram that will transfer you to amazing landscapes with ideal opportunities of take unforgettable pictures.

Overnight: Monteverde – (B)

Departure: After your visit to Costa Rica and all the memories that you have to share with your friends, you have to prepare your luggage and say good bye to this tropical country. According with your international flight schedule, our driver will greet you at the lobby of the hotel and provide the transfer to Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) where you will board your flight back home. – (B)
