Day 1 Arrive Tucman

Upon arrival at airport in Argentina, you will be warmly met by a representative, who will provide assistance and transfer to your accommodation to check-in.

Overnight: Tucman

Day 2 Tucuman - Cafayate

Activities:

  • Departure to Cafayate for Tafi del Valle, Amaicha and Quilmes.
  • Route 307 brand promotion to the Valleys. The road goes through the Quebrada of The Sosas River and stop at the monument “The Indio “.
  • Then we will reach Mollar to visit The menhirs *, after that continue to the picturesque town of Tafi del Valle.
  • The provincial route 307 amounts to Calchaquíes Valleys in a pronounced zigzag until Abra del Infiernillo, at 3,042 meters Amaicha del Valle: visit the square and its surroundings.
  • After connecting with the National route 40, the Sacred City of Quilmes will appear on our left. In the hillside reconstructions of the residential area, topped by a fortress located at the top and two forts on both sides are noticed. We travel on foot what was the last bastion of Aboriginal resistance to the Spanish advance.
  • The legendary National Route 40 lost in the valIey headed north, but not before passing by Colalao Valley.
  • Cafayate, land of sun and good wine, welcomes us with crops of grape vines
  • On Monday the archaeological site of menhirs closed.

Day 3 Cafayate - Salta

Activities:

  • Cafayate, located in the province of Salta, is one of the most important points of the Calchaquíes Valleys for its powerful wine industry. Its calchaquí /Spanish /Inmigrant and Criolla history resulted in this city has a style between colonial and Baroque of the late nineteenth century. Wineries where you can taste the particular wine Torrontés be visited.
  • Then leaving for Salta by the majestic Quebrada de las Conchas, where curious formations eroded by wind and water will be the main attraction: the dunes, the toad, the bishop, the Devil’s Throat, castles, amphitheater, among others.

Day 4 Salta - Quebrada De Humahuaca - Salta

Activities:

  • The journey leaves from Salta, but really begins once arrived to Purmamarca Village where time will be enough to observe the Seven Colored Hill, the Church and the Craft Market on the square, and a small walk along it´s narrow streets.
  • We continue towards the town of Tilcara where we visit the Pucará (ancient ruins), the Archaeological Museum, and Huacalera, then we cross the Capricorn Tropic, from where the colors of La Pollera del Coya Hill can be seen and really good pictures taken because of the daylight.
  • We visit Uquía and its church, where the paintings of the Arcabuceros Angels (important vestige in the zone of the Cuzqueña School) are kept.
  • Arrival to Humahuaca will be at noon, this town has an important Church and the Independence Monument (the Indian) of the sculptor Soto Avendaño.
  • After lunch (not included) we´ll observe , from the route, La Paleta del Pintor (Paintor”s Palette) framing the town of Maimara.
  • We continue to San Salvador de Jujuy where the Flag Hall and the Cathedral, characterized by its pulpit carved in wood and gold and the statues of Lola Mora are visited.
  • Finally, we return to Salta.

Day 5 Salta

Departure: Breakfast and check out. At the according time regular transfer to the airport to take our flight to the next destination. (B)
