Day 1 Arrive Kuala Lumpur

Upon arrival at airport in Malaysia, you will be warmly met by a representative, who will provide assistance and transfer to your accommodation to check-in.

Activities:

  • Rest of the day at leisure to relax and acclimatize.

Day 2 Kuala Lumpur

Activities:

  • Explore the cities major historical landmarks The King’s Palace, The National Monument, The National Museum and The Merdeka (Independence) Square. Much of the history of the city is depicted here as well as the tradition and cultural heritage of the major communities.
  • Driving pass Chinatown you will have a glimpse of the old Kuala Lumpur with hawkers selling foodstuff and clothing along interesting old shop houses lining the streets.
  • Visit KL Tower & enjoy the panoramic view of the city and the majestic Petronas Twin Tower.

Day 3 Kuala Lumpur - Kuching

Activities:

  • Transfer to KLIA for flight to Kuching. On arrival, meet & transfer to Hotel.
  • Kuching is the state capital of Sarawak, surely the most interesting city in Borneo. A bustling waterfront, a 19th Century Chinatown, fine colonial-style architecture, excellent museums and a host of modern amenities make Kuching the ideal jumping-off point for discovering Sarawak and the rest of Borneo.
  • Afternoon visit the town to see some of the public buildings including Fort Margarita built by Raja Charles Brooke in the 1870’s.
  • Also visit the renowned Sarawak Museum established in 1891, which houses a fine collection of flora and fauna together with the history and culture of the tribal people of Sarawak.

Day 4 Kuching - Lemanak River - Batang Ai

Activities:

  • Leave Kuching in the morning for Serian a colorful market town.
  • Stop at Lachau bazaar for lunch.
  • Arrive at Lemanak jetty mid-afternoon for a longboat ride up the Lemanak River, passing through typical Borneo countryside with an ancient longhouse tucked behind almost every bend in the river.
  • Arrive at either Serubah or Nanga Kesit Longhouse and visit the ”entire village under one roof.” Tour the longhouse and enjoy a demonstration of blowpipe shooting.
  • Return down river for land transfer to Batang Ai jetty.

Day 5 Batang Ai - Kuching

Activities:

  • Depart for Kuching via the same route as your arrival.
  • Stop for lunch at a small roadside town before continuing your journey to Kuching.

Day 6 Kuching - Mulu

Activities:

  • Take the early morning flight to Miri and connect to Mulu. Transfer to Resort.
  • In the afternoon, depart for 3-km plank walk to visit Deer & Lang caves and wait for bat exit at the observatory, before returning late evening to resort for overnight.

Day 7 Mulu

Activities:

  • After breakfast, depart by longboat journey for short stopover at Penan settlement (semi nomadic tribe of Sarawak) before continuing on to Wind & Clearwater caves.
  • Return to resort at mid afternoon. Rest of the day, relax in this unique resort by the pool or indulge yourself in the Spa or Massage treatment.

Day 8 Mulu - Kota Kinabalu

Activities:

  • After breakfast transfer to the nearby Mulu airport for flight to Kota Kinabalu. Meeting and transfer to Resort for two nights.

Note: There is a direct flight from Kuching to Mulu and Mulu to Kota Kinabalu. The order of the tours in Mulu will vary according to the arrival flight from Kuching & the departure flight to Kota Kinabalu.

Day 9 Kota Kinabalu

Activities:

  • Full Day Kinabalu National Park & Poring Hotspring. The jagged granite peaks of Mt. Kinabalu (4095 m) towers above one of the most biologically diverse areas in the world. Nominated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Kinabalu Park is a natural wonder that offers day visitors a glimpse into the fascinating and often unique world of flora within the park. The montane oak-chestnut forest at park headquarters gives way to lowland dipterocarp forest at Poring on the eastern boundary. Trek through the rainforest and witness life in the treetops as you walk along the 100 ft high Canopy Walkway (If closed, it will be replaced with a visit to the Tropical Garden).

Day 10 Kota Kinabalu - Sandakan - Sukau Village

Activities:

  • Transfer for flight to Sandakan. Meet upon arrival at the Sandakan Airport preferably on MH 2042 ETA 0800hrs or AK6080 ETA 0750hrs.
  • Drive for approximately 30 minutes to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center. Proceed to the free roaming area feeding platform. 1000 hrs Feeding of Orang Utans. At this center, observe man’s closest relative the Orang Utan being rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat and experience a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo.
  • 11:00 depart Sepilok and transfer to jetty in Sandakan. 11:45 take an hour boat cruise up to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary where you will take your lunch at Abai Jungle Restaurant. This is a wonderful journey of discovery which starts from the waters of Sulu Sea of Sandakan Town through a magnificent scenery of the Mangrove Forest.
  • After lunch, cruise UP river to Sukau village in search of primates especially the Endemic Proboscis Monkeys, birds and other wildlife.
  • Arrive Sukau, check in at Lodge.
  • Late afternoon, take another river cruise to Menanggul River, a small tributary of the Kinabatangan.

Day 11 Sukau Village

Activities:

  • Wake up by the calls of gibbons and hornbills. Early AM, take a river trip to the Ox Bow Lake to observe wildlife and experience the early morning river ambience of the longest river of Sabah.
  • After breakfast or after lunch, depart overland to Gomantong Birdnest Caves. Upon arrival, 15 minutes walk on the plankwalk to the cave. Explore the largest bird’s nest cave in Sabah, home to millions of Bats and Swiflets. The nest of the swiflets are collected for the famous Chinese edible birdnest soup.
  • Return lodge free at own leisure.
  • Late afternoon, another river cruise to search for more wildlife.

Day 12 Sukau Village - Sandakan - Kota Kinabalu

Activities:

  • 07:00 have breakfast and proceed for river cruise down by boat back to Sandakan. Another chance for wildlife sightings with this approximately 2.5 hours journey.
  • Upon arrival at jetty, drive up hill to the Puh Jih Syh Chinese Buddhist Temple, which offers a panoramic view of the Sandakan Bay.
  • After lunch, transfer to the Airport MH 2709 ETD 14:00 or AK 6093 ETD 14:20.
  • On arrival, meet & transfer to hotel in Tuaran to relax & enjoy the facilities of your Resort .
